PSI Technics has been working closely with MIAS Group, a supplier specializing in AS/RS stacker cranes and telescopic forks, to offer customers an efficient two-step analysis and modernization program for ageing stacker cranes.
The first step consists of a motion analysis that is used to determine the machine behavior. This step is important, since the actual stacker crane behavior often deviates from the PLC’s machine model. The motion analysis also reveals unused optimization potential.
Next, PSI Technics’ implements the ARATEC Positioning Solution System to optimize throughput while reducing machine wear – ARATEC permits the continued use of existing components, such as PLCs or drives, and does not require costly replacements.
Hyperspectral Analysis for the Food Industry
Thanks to its ARATEC Positioning Solution System, PSI Technics has established a broad customer base in the food industry. By continuously developing its expertise in the field of industrial image processing, PSI Technics has also become a quality assurance expert in this sector.

Hyperspectral imaging significantly extends the application range of grayscale and color cameras. Organic substances, particularly water, lipids or proteins, can be easily distinguished by means of a hyperspectral analysis. Leading Air Cargo Terminal Operator Continues to Rely on PSI Technics for Stacker Crane Modernization
After receiving a follow-up modernization contract from a leading Chinese air cargo terminal operator, we are looking forward to working with the client in 2019, who commissioned additional stacker crane modernizations for Super Terminal 1 at Hong Kong International Airport Chek Lap Kok.
The stacker cranes with a height of up to 131 feet (40 meters) are crucial for the operation of the logistics hub at the world’s largest cargo airport. Following the modernization with the ARATEC Positioning Solution System, the stacker cranes will feature a sustainable, state-of-the-art positioning system.
