The FLP6000MA Motion Analyzing Software optimizes positioning and material handling technology
PSI Technicsâ€™ Motion Analyzing Software can immediately detect positioning errors that are not visible to the naked eye. A common example is when a PLC is controlling positioning of a crane or other industrial vehicle. Since the PLC doesnâ€™t consider the whole machine and provides no means of logging positioning movements that can be used for troubleshooting, common positioning errors such as slight under- or overshooting, or vehicle creeping go unrecognized and can have dramatic impacts on system throughput and machine wear and tear, leading to lost productivity and high maintenance costs.
As an example, PSI Technics recently analyzed a drive-based positioning solution in a test environment at a large OEM and found that even with tuning, the crane was overshooting its position by 4-5 mm and taking on average 1.5 seconds to get back onto position. A stacker crane making 2 movements a minute operating 16 hours/day, 6 days/week in this scenario is resulting in over 250 hours of lost productivity per year, let alone added stress on gear boxes and other system components.
